BOYS SPRING/SUMMER CAPSULE WARDROBE

I love creating capsule wardrobes for my kids and I have so much fun putting them together.

If you’re wondering what a capsule wardrobe is, it’s basically just a smaller wardrobe made up of pieces that can be mixed and matched to create multiple looks.

I tend to call our capsule wardrobes “capsule-ish wardrobes,” because I don’t stick to a certain number of pieces or anything like that. I buy what we need, try to stay minimal, and purchase quality over quantity.

Some of the items above, like the suspenders, light wash denim shorts, and the swim trunks are from last year’s capsule wardrobe. I was able to pull from previous capsule wardrobes and continue using some of the items, which is a big reason I buy quality over quantity and size up a bit if I can!

My Process:

I use a note app on my phone to keep track of all my capsule wardrobe lists. I make a list of what I think I’ll need and I also upload photos and use it as a design board. Being intentional with a capsule wardrobe prevents me from over-spending or buying more than we actually need.

Sweaters (1)
Shirts/tanks (10-13) (I have one messy boy ;) so we tend to go through a few shirts every day).
Bottoms (5-10)
Swimsuit (1)
Shoes (2-3)
Pajamas (I didn’t include Locke’s pajamas in this post, but I get all of the kids’ pajamas from Primary.com. They are the best quality and they have the best customer service. Fun Accessories (2-3) Locke loves wearing hats and suspenders and I think they add the cutest touches to his outfits
